Wedding photographer Amsterdam
Hi! My name is Evert Doorn and I am a Dutch wedding photographer – and possibly your best choice of photographer for your wedding in Amsterdam. Having more than a decade of experience in wedding photography, and having lived for more than 10 years in Amsterdam, I certainly know how to mix the skill with the looks of the city!
My style could be described as: honest, full of character, and story telling. The images I create give you the idea of being very close – or in the middle – of the action. And my ultimate goal is to create a story which you’ll enjoy the rest of your lives.
Apart from my style of photography, another thing that sets me apart is the personal approach: not just in the contact prior to a wedding day, but also on the day itself. Me and my assistant really become part of the day, without being intrusive. Many times we hear afterwards things like: ‘we didn’t even notice you guys were there!’. And I take that as a compliment.
Finally, many couples chose me as their choice of wedding photographer because of the bespoke handmade albums we can deliver to our clients. These albums are 100% created in house by me and my wife (who is a professional bookbinder).
So, about Amsterdam – as mentioned I have lived here for many years (I currently live in a small town about 25 minutes from the city) and also I shoot weddings there on a regular basis. If you plan to have your wedding here and are looking for a good wedding photographer, do get in touch and let’s see if we can create some magic together!
Evert did a phenomenal job with our wedding. Regardless of changes or constraints in the schedule, he had a great attitude and the flexibility to handle anything. He is also a photo ninja, moving around without being seen and capturing all of the best shots. We cannot thank him e
Tips for wedding venues in Amsterdam
Amsterdam has many fantastic wedding locations. One of my favourites is the Waldorf Astoria hotel. This superb luxury hotel can provide everything you need for your wedding, and the whole day can take place here: from preparations to party. A canal tour during the day can be organised too (great for a different setting for reception drinks!). Other nice hotels are The Grand, W Amsterdam, or the Pulitzer. Equally nice as a location is the West Indisch Huis, Museum van Loon or one of the many churches in the city.
If you’d like to be nearby the city but not necessarily within Amsterdam, there’s some great options outside as well: think of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel or, closer by, the renewed Amstel Boathouse are nice river side options. Schellingwoude has a very cute little church, and Rijk van de Keizer offers a more bohemian style setting whereas the Westergas area has very cool renovated industrial settings. If you need help or specific tips, let me know – I can also connect you with a local wedding planner.
