a Japanese engagement shoot in Holland
Recently, I’ve had the immense pleasure of meeting Yu & Yumi, a lovely couple all the way from Japan! They just got married back home and Holland (and some other places in Europe) was the destination for their honeymoon. Yu’s lived in the Netherlands in Amstelveen in his childhood so he really want to go back again (we actually visited his old house where he used to live).
We decided to shoot in the old centre of Amsterdam were we have the beautiful 17th century canals (they are actually UNESCO listed), after which we turned our attention to the Keukenhof and the tulip fields.
I have to admit something: I’ve never ever visited Keukenhof (an enormous flower exposition, only open in Spring and even in this short amount of time it draws about 1.2 million visitors each year), so for me it was a first too! I must say I was very, very impressed – amazing what they can do with all the tulips and other flowers.
It was a fantastic day; thanks Yu & Yumi for hanging out with me and my assistant Rianne!
