Mirjam & Remco
Last week I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Mirjam and Remco, a Dutch wedding with Northern roots. Nowadays they live in Utrecht, in the center of the country, but originally they are from Groningen, a typical student city where they also met each other.
Back to the wedding! I started the photography with the preparations of both Remco and Mirjam. Completely in line with Dutch tradition, Mirjam stayed at her parent’s place where Remco picked her up. We decided to do the wedding shoot in the old center of the city. After a small lunch break, off we went to the Pepergasthuiskerk, an old chapel hidden away in the middle of the center. A lovely peaceful place!
The rest of the day was spent at the Paalkoepel, at the Paterswoldemeer; a lake nearby. This old beautiful tea house from the 19th century is now a restaurant and a very cool place for celebrating a wedding. We even had some luck with the sun later that evening, despite the bad forecasts. All in all it was a great day! Here’s some of my favorites.
